More from Ned's Birthday + Sunday Laughs and Snuggles

Here are some more pictures from Ned's birthday party, while everyone was still happy.  Thanks to Coco for all the pictures for this post.

Play dough fun.  Elliott (right forefront) was totally content eating his feet, as you do.  This is also one of the few shots of Elliott and Ned in their matching striped pajamas.

Sunday was wonderful.  Elliott and I spent the night at my parents house.  He was up often during the night so he went to play with Coco and Poppy around 8 am so I could go back to sleep (love that).  I then went out for brunch with two girlfriends.  I love my family to pieces but it was nice to have non-family, non-work socializing.  After I got back, we played on the big bed for a while and got these great pictures.

Full of laughs

He likes bouncing and flying.  I love those smiles.

Happy Birthday Ned!

Another week and another illness.  Elliott and I both came down with a stomach bug this week.  I am so ready for a break from this.  We're both fine now but hoping the rest of my family doesn't come down with this.  More on that later.

We're in trouble.  Elliott is fully mobile and found Humphrey's water bowl today.

Testing the waters

We're lucky he didn't try to get in the bowl like Ned did when he first found the bowl.

He was also excited to find the refill jug.

He props himself up often now.

Fortunately this is the extent of his adventure with the bowl.

Today is Ned's 3rd birthday.  It's hard to believe it has already been three years since he was this little peanut (well, not so little when he was born).

We went to Ned's house for his party today.  Unfortunately, Ned came down with the stomach bug about an hour into his party.  It was so sad that he felt yucky and could not enjoy his party with his friends.  We are especially sorry if we brought the bug to Ned's house!

Elliott ate dinner there.  And dinner was everywhere!

Happy boy covered in sweet potatoes, carrots, and some green beans.

Playing with toys.

He tried to play with all the toys at once!

Playing with Brendan.

Ned's friends helped him blow out his candles since he wasn't feeling well.

Ready to go to bed.

Here is some randomness.  Holly and Marisa made play dough for the kids.  After they were done playing, we made a cornucopia out of play dough.  And then Mike made a turkey to go along with it.  It was a masterpiece.

April Showers???

I'm not sure this is what they mean by "April showers bring May flowers."  We were greeted with six inches of heavy, wet snow on Monday night and Tuesday morning.  This has been a crazy winter/spring.  It seems more like Colorado than Buffalo, going from 70 to snow in a matter of days.

This was not a pleasant noise to hear shortly after Elliott and I got home on Monday night.  Fortunately there was no damage.  I'm ready for winter to be gone for good!

Play Dates

Friday was a beautiful taste of summer (just a taste because it's supposed to snow tomorrow!).  Elliott and I went over for a play date with Tucker and Levi.  Tucker is about a month older than Elliott.  They are both big boys and play well together.  Levi is two and very busy.

The three wee ones

Look at all of these new toys!  Elliott was very intrigued by all the new things.

Elliott and Levi playing with cones. Elliott didn't seem to care that his hat strap was across his face. It doesn't really fit under his chins!

The boys.

We stopped over to see Danielle later in the afternoon.  He was in a wonderful mood and Danielle always gets big smiles and laughs out of him.  He loved playing with her dancing foot.

So funny!!  (He's laughing, not crying.)

Loving to stand these days.

Sitting with his girlfriend Danielle.

Eyes on the TV, even though it was off.

An iPad, you say?

I want it!!

We stayed around the house for much of today.  Elliott played in his first fort, a nice cardboard box.

He was mildly entertained for a short while.

But more excited about the camera so he came to see me!

Enjoy these last few shots of the wonderful, toothless smile.  Elliott first tooth is making its appearance!!  He seems to be weathering it pretty well so hopefully we both survive the next few days.

Pulling himself up

Elliott gets stronger and faster every day.  I used to be able to leave him playing on the floor of the bedroom while I took a shower in the morning.  Today involved figuring out how to take down the pack and play in the living room and set it back up in the bedroom at 6:30 in the morning (I thought about trying to shove it through the door set up but wisely reconsidered).  I'm not one to read directions or it would have gone much more quickly.  I had to keep him contained in "baby jail" so he wouldn't get in to trouble and hurt himself.

Last night, Elliott was playing while we were getting ready for bed.  He scooted over to a big basket and pulled himself up onto his feet!  Of course my camera decided to have an error at that exact moment but here are some shots around that time.

Scoping out his hand holds and starting to pull up.

Part way up and getting distracted by the neighboring toy bin.

He almost always looks when I call his name now, unless he's playing with something really exciting.

Working on his crawl . . . and starting to take after his dad and grandma by closing his eyes for pictures.

Hello my blog readers!!
