Wrapping Up September

This is a hodgepodge of pictures from the end of September. We loved spending time with our new family of four and having lots of visitors in and out of the house.

Elliott loves riding in the Mini. He used to call it the "little car" but now calls it the "mini car."

One week old.

Elliott loves books. The first words out of his mouth when he wakes up in the morning or after nap are usually "read a book."

Alert in her PJs.

Hollyn and Leigh came over to meet Lucy on 9/25/13. Hollyn was born in early July, making her two and a half months older than Lucy. Hollyn is little sister to Colton, who has made frequent appearances on this blog. Leigh posted great pictures of this meeting on her blog.

These two little ladies are looking forward to many, many play dates with each other and their new friend Emma who was born on 10/8/13.

Aunt Jen spent an entire day with us. She snuggled with Lucy and read book after book to Elliott. It was a great help and nice to have the company.

Sleeping on Daddy at 9 days old. We did our family pictures earlier in the day and, despite my best efforts to get her to sleep then, she stayed awake the entire time. Of course she went right to sleep after Kristen (the photographer) left.

Grandma Sue (Jesse's mom) came to visit for a week. We went on many special adventures, starting with the zoo.

Elliott was thrilled with this.

Looking for water in the storm drain.

This pretty well captures life with two kids in our house. Caotic. Burps cloths everywhere. Big smiles all around (except Lucy who is a bit confused by it all).

We had Sunday brunch in Elma so Sue could visit with the rest of my family. Ted was throwing a ragged tennis ball for the dogs and it got wedged in a tree. After watching him throw sticks at it for a while (very entertaining), Holly took control and got a big stick from the garage. She is an easy tickle target and Ted went in for the kill.

Too good not to share.

As they usually do, Ned and Elliott were doing laps around the circle in the Jeep. But, this was a special day. Penny got to join in the fun too! The boys loved having her along for the ride and she was thrilled.

Grandma Sue wrapped up birthday gifts for Elliott. He quickly caught on to the opening presents routine over the past few weeks.

His new shirt with airplanes.

Books are a big hit these days and Thomas is at the top of the list. He was so excited to have new Thomas books.

Getting right into reading them.
