Denver Zoo

On Saturday, we spent a wonderful morning at the Denver zoo. Morning activities are best for Elliott's nap schedule and we got to see the animals before it got too crowded.

This big lion came right up to the glass to say hi to us. I missed the really close encounter but it was really cool.

Hayden is a great big cousin. Elliott thinks he is the bee's knees. (Side note: What does that mean? Do bees even have knees?)

We went to a training session with the elephants. Elliott knows elephants and was very excited.

Elliott held Hayden's hand while watching the elephant.

Elliott got really excited when the elephant started getting a shower. He kept saying, "shoow, shoow!"

Both boys were very excited to play with these big drums (that I'm sure have some cultural significance to this Asian exhibit).

Hayden and Elliott were very excited to ride on the train. Elliott loves "choo choos" these days.

"Tommy!" (aka Thomas the Tank Engine)

Garrett, Hayden, Elliott, and me. All ready for our very slow train ride.

Comparing Elliott's hand to a grizzly paw. Just a slight size discrepancy.

My boys checking out the bears.

All right, people. That was fun but we need to find some food!
