Last weekend we spent three awesome days camping in Allegany State Park, about an hour and a half south of our house. We went down there a couple of years ago with the Ortmans but amassed a much bigger group this year. We ended up with 15 adults, 7 kids, and 3 fetuses. It was a weekend of great company, delicious food, and controlled chaos with six kids running around (fortunately Penny is still stationary).
Jesse got some help starting the fire from Luca, Elliott, and Sophia.
The little campers (except for Luca). Grace (19 months), Penny (6 months), Elliott (21 months), Ned (4 yr), Sophia (4 yr), and Charlotte (2 1/2 yr). Luca (2 1/2 yr) was probably off doing something important.

Penny enjoyed the scene from her camping "chair" until Elliott would try to climb in . . . while she was in there.
On Saturday morning, we headed out for a hike way too late. About half of our crowd had to turn back with tired kids while the rest of us continued down the wrong trail for a couple of miles. Instead of a wooded hiking trail, we missed the trail markers and walked on a saturated snowmobile trail. At least we got some fresh air and exercise. Elliott took the opportunity to squeeze a nap in.
Relaxing by the fire on Saturday afternoon. Several of us were drying our wet boots by the fire. At one point, Danielle mentioned that she smelled burning rubber. Yep, that was my boots melting. So not my plan!
Elliott checking out the keg. He had picked up a bottle of whiskey earlier too. It's like he has special toddler radar for booze.
