We spent the first half of last weekend close to home, enjoying all of the wonderful sights in East Aurora. Elliott and Dutch went for a walk with Coco and Poppy while I went to boot camp.
Elm Street Bakery put in a beautiful garden in the back. Look at these cool planters then made from old drawers!

Holly, Ned, and Penny came out to meet us. The boys had great fun following Poppy's directions - "stand on the picnic table and put your hands over your head."
A moment of relative calm in the midst of controlled chaos. Penny was hollering, as she does between each bite of food. You cannot feed this girl fast enough!
We then went down to visit my friend Vanessa's new art supply shop. She has a great kid-friendly corner that Elliott loves. He also runs in and gives her a big hug while saying "Essa." This fun morning turned terrible in a hurry when Elliott ran into the street and was almost hit by a car. I am so grateful that the driver was paying attention and stopped short of him. I spent much of the rest of the day (and subsequent days) in a mixed state of panic and relief that my little man is okay.
I love watching Elliott sleep. Every night before I go to bed, I stand and watch him for a while. It's amazing to watch this little boy, who is so very active during the day, completely shut down like a little angel. I finally snapped a picture of him. These are his new Thomas PJs that Jesse sent when he left on his last trip.
The following day, Elliott and I had some errands to run and time to kill between them. I spotted a playground in our travels so we played there.
Quack, quack!
Taking a little rest on a picnic table. Apparently we had a weekend of being on top on picnic tables.
Elliott is old enough now that he really misses Daddy. We try to Skype daily but the time change mixed with work and sleep schedules does not always allow for that. So, Jesse sent us a few pictures for Elliott to see at any time. When you ask him "where is Daddy?," he responds with "Daddy working boat." It's very cute.
