This will be the last Maine post. I hope you have all enjoyed these pictures as much as we loved our trip!
On our last full day up there, we went sailing again. Elliott loved it. We rode out to the boat in the dingy, aka "the little boat." We sailed over to Warren Island State Park for a lunchtime picnic and some beach time. While Taz and Sue went on a very successful venture to find mussels, Elliott and I looked for crabs.

After a sponge bath using baby wipes, we went back to the boat for nap. Elliott briefly resisted napping in his life jacket but eventually succumbed to the nap.
He slept like this for two (or more) hours while we enjoyed a grownup sail around 700 acre island. I wish I had taken some pictures during the sail but I was busy holding on. It's hard to keep stable on a heeled over sailboat with a huge belly and compromised abdominal strength!
We departed on Saturday morning with hopes of catching the 8:30 ferry. As we had expected, that boat was full so we waited for the 9:30 boat. Who knew what fun we would have in that hour! There was a long-distance swim ending at the ferry dock so there was an ambulance there on standby. The Maine Lifeflight helicopter was there for the event doing a PR appearance. The pilots were great and allowed Elliott to sit in the backseat. Adding to the excitement was a cherry picker parked near our car and, of course, the ferry. It was like a real life version of Cars and Trucks and Things That Go.
Speaking of Cars and Trucks and Things That Go, here is a video from earlier in the week of Elliott reading the book.
Our car trip home was loooooooong. We stopped in Portland for playtime and lunch. It resulted in too long of a stop, too early in the day, and a late night. Here is Elliott riding a lobster at a really cool playground.
