We went to the doctor last Thursday for Elliott's two-year checkup. I wanted to schedule it a couple of weeks before his birthday to move it ahead of my due date. I can't believe our little boy is almost two! Leading up to his appointment, we talked a lot about the doctor. We talked about how the doctor would listen to his heart and his back. When you ask him where his heart is, he puts his hand to his chest and says, "heart up here." We talked about how the doctor would look in his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and at his booty. And, most of all, if he was a good boy, he would get a sticker. I skipped the part about shots in the pep talks. We even practiced saying Dr. Poppenberg, a mouthful for Elliott. He was a charmer when we got to the office, chatting it up with the front office lady and looking at the fish. As soon as we crossed the threshold to the exam rooms, he started crying and throwing a fit. He did not want me to take his clothes off. I finally calmed him down with a tractor movie on YouTube and he returned to his happy self for the remainder of his appointment.
Elliott was a trooper for his appointment. He got two stickers!
He liked climbing on the doctor's chair.
