You probably heard that our area got a little bit of snow in November.
We woke up on Tuesday morning to a few inches but a driving ban due to several feet of snow just a few miles north of us. It snowed all day leading to about 15 inches of accumulation that our neighbor easily plowed.
Wednesday was beautiful - bright sunshine and clear skies - but still a driving ban due to the 3-4 feet that fell on Tuesday in the Village of East Aurora and surrounding towns. We played outside on Wednesday.
Elliott, expert shoveler.
So big! Look at that blue sky!
Elliott's first snow angel.
Then Thursday came and, with it, lots of snow. You can see it piling up on the windows and creating a beautiful backdrop for Lucy's favorite playspot.
Elliott learned to help Lucy off of her perch when she wants to get down. It's really cute.
Even though it was only November 20th, I deemed it okay to put up garland and start Christmas crafts. Between being stuck in the house for three days (at that point) and all the snow, Christmas in November was reasonable.
Headed out to shovel.
We got 3-4 of snow on Thursday. Our neighbor's tractor was unable to plow that depth of snow. We took turns (Jesse taking far more) and kept the turnaround near the house clear of snow.
Look at that pile of snow. This storm has been named "Snovember."
Friday was once again beautiful. The driving ban remained in effect but that was not an issue for us since we were completely stuck in our driveway. That is Elliott wading through the snow in the middle of the driveway.
We lost a big willow tree in the storm.
Family outdoor adventure time!
We were going nowhere fast.
So we played and sledded.
I snowshoed in an attempt to find someone to help us out. That is the four foot wall of snow at the end of our driveway. At least is was a beautiful day!
On Saturday morning, Tim picked up Jesse and drove him to my parents house. He returned in my Dad's tractor, having driven it the ~9 miles between our houses. The blower made quick work of the snow. Jesse then went and freed two of our neighbors who were still stuck.
After 5 days of driving bans, the ban was finally lifted on Saturday morning. We had not left the house since Monday afternoon. We survived the week with the elements and each other. And, except for dog food, we didn't run out of anything! In total, we received 4-5 feet of snow, much less than areas north and west of us.
Playing in the snow again.
Helping clear the snow.
First job post storm was clearing the leaning trees over the driveway. The big downed tree will have to wait for spring.
King of the downed tree stump.
And, a couple of days later, Lucy played in this box of peanuts at Coco and Ted's shop. She was entertained for a long time in there. I did find a few rogue peanuts hiding in her clothes later in the day.
