Pancakes for Penelope

Penelope came to Bertie Bay to celebrate her second birthday. We celebrated with a pancake brunch in late August. It's hard to believe she is already two . . . and that she's only two because she is smart, wise, and outgoing!

Lucy found the good stuff. Whiskey sour, anyone?

Maggie and Will.

Molly, David, and Ann.

Betsy and Reid.

Scott captured this awesome picture of Lucy. She is being recruited by the Bills.

Janie, Jesse, and Lucy.

Poppy and Will.

Betsy getting some twin snuggles.

A boat ride with Captain (my uncle Robert) was one of the highlights of the morning.

Returning from the ride.

Claire and her precious cargo.

Hi Mommy.

Hrmph.

There are the smiles. And that hair!

Henry.

Elliott.

Ned . . . turning anything and everything into a gun.

It was a fine morning for some beach yoga.

Nothing gets the troops up from the beach like . . .

Cupcakes!

Maggie and Penelope, enjoying the singing.

Cute family shot while blowing out the candle. With a Ned Ortman photobomb.

The cupcakes were delicious.

And then something awesome happened. The kids started lining up.

One by one, we added more.

And more.

And more.
Height and age order of all present second cousins with the ability to stand (Reid and Will don't pass that test, yet).
Lucy (11 months), Penny (20 months), Penelope (2 yrs), Elliott (almost 3 yrs), Henry (3 yrs), Ned (5 yrs).
Grandma and Grandpa would be so thrilled to see this lineup playing and having fun at their house.

 How does this thing work?

Some closeups of the cupcake eating.

Think he likes it?

Henry likes his, too!

Blowing bubbles in the kiddie pool. (I don't think he was drinking from it but, I'll be honest, I don't actually remember.)

Have you heard of the new olympic sport? Swinging cupcake eating!

Miss P in her pool.

The kids took turns jumping into the pool. 1, 2,

3!
Scott, sorry about adding to your back troubles!

Henry's turn.

He went for the safer slide.

I had the horrible idea that night to try to take a picture of my parents with all of their grandchildren. Sounds like a nice idea, right? Except it was after bedtime for Penny and Lucy.
Here are the best two of the bunch.

Pictures are easier before they can move!
