It's a girl!! Penny has arrived!

Holly, Mike, and Ned welcomed the beautiful Spencer Alice Ortman at 12:34 pm today.  She will be called Penny.  She tipped the scales at a dainty 7 pounds, 14 ounces.  Ned was 9 pounds, 11 ounces!  At 20 inches, she is a long and lean little girl.  Here are some pictures of her first few hours in the world!

Eyes open and alert

Ned arriving from school and seeing Mama

Heading to the nursery to see the baby.  He is proudly sporting a sticker on his overalls that says, "I'm a big brother."

Ned and Mike heading to see Penny.

The first look . . . and hearing that he had a sister.  He seemed to think he was "getting a brother."  Maybe a mix up with "being a brother"?

Peering through the window and the little sleeping angel.  Look at those cheeks!

Now full of smiles, with Poppy looking on.

Back in the room and getting a closer look at Penny (in Mike's arms).

Penny having an important conversation with Poppy

Mama and her two (!!!!) kiddos!

The happy family

Penny stretching out after a snack

Ned thinks she looks "grumpy."  He's very interested in petting her head, which we all carefully explain is very fragile.

She is such a wee thing!  And so floppy!

Trying for another family shot but Ned was, once again, very interested in Penny's head

Alert and looking at Mama

That tongue

I love baby feet.  Delicate and wrinkly.

Two girls, nose to nose

And a sweet kiss

Lovely baby toes

Penny's auburn hair.  Wow, Holly and Mike make beautiful babies!  I'll be back to visit tomorrow and will take more pictures to share!
